BOOK REVIEW: “Plan D” by author Mike Maddock

Disrupt Me, PLEASE!

I have known the author Mike Maddock for over 15 years. Over that time, we have worked more that a few times on client innovation projects. I vividly recall my initial reaction in meeting him for the first time — I thought, “Who the heck is this guy in the room who is brighter, more prolific and funnier than I am?! (That’s MY role!) It was of course, Mike Maddock, an ace disruptor in his own right. In “Plan D” he writes about how disruptors “blow sh** up for the good of the whole.” Mike should know better than anyone and he does. What springs to mind is the observation that every medical surgery is “a controlled injury” — a disruption of the body for a better state of being. Like a surgeon, Mike is abundantly skilled and well-practiced and his humor, humanity and insightfulness allow him to disrupt with a deftness that delivers the goods while doing no harm … but disrupt he will. And you and your organization will be better for it. Make it your plan A, B, C, D … E, F, G, etc. to get your hands on this book.
